So, this year has been an awful year for Downey mildew in NC. The sorghum failed because it stopped raining, and the pumpkins were a casualty of mildew.
I planted on the last possible date, due to the sorghum failure. It was rough. Because the plants couldn’t get established, they weren’t big enough or strong enough to fight off the mildew.
The south is rough… The farm is replacing it with strawberries, I think.
And if not, I will be using some of their other plants for my citizen science program.
Lots of failures for one week, as I am crying as I am yanking out the remaining plants.
