I visited the Durham Scrap exchange and got some fabrics that would match and compliment with the soil dyed colors. Since the panels are white, I used a maroon color to try and make our color pop.
Then, I had to shape the belt into a dress belt by sewing darts into the dresses.
Then I pinned on a soil panel and a solid panel (orange, yellow, maroon). I spent a lot of time bunching, pinning, and using a quilt foot to attach the layers to the belt.
And that was the end of layer 1. It looks really good coming together with my brown leather corset top.
