Well, I got an email from a fellow American Chinchilla breeder this morning. Their doe had a single kit on the wire, and they managed to keep it alive for two days! (That is super rare in itself).

So they brought her over, and we got the baby some colostrum from Syren. Syren was pretty amazing, and allowed me to flip her over and nurse the poor little baby. I marked its ear with a sharpie, and put it into the nest.  Here’s to hoping that the big litter survives! She is an amazing mother, but I am worried that not all babies will be fed.
